Crunchy, golden air-fried tortellini filled with gooey cheese, served with a spicy-sweet hot honey dip. This easy snack is perfect for parties, movie nights, or a quick appetizer and comes together in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (9-ounce) package refrigerated cheese tortellini (or spinach/ricotta tortellini)
  • 1 cup seasoned panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 23 teaspoons hot sauce (Frank’s Red Hot, sriracha, or your favorite)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. If using refrigerated tortellini, open the package and separate pieces. For frozen tortellini, boil for 3-4 minutes until just tender, then drain and cool completely.
  2. Pat tortellini dry with a paper towel.
  3. In one bowl, whisk together eggs and milk until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.
  5. Dip each tortellini in the egg mixture, letting excess drip off.
  6. Roll tortellini in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to help the coating stick. Set aside on a plate.
  7. Preheat air fryer to 375Β°F for 2-3 minutes if required.
  8. Spray air fryer basket lightly with olive oil or cooking spray.
  9. Place breaded tortellini in a single layer in the basket. Spray tops lightly with oil.
  10. Air fry at 375Β°F for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crunchy.
  11. While tortellini cooks, combine honey and hot sauce in a small saucepan. Add red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt. Warm over low heat for 1-2 minutes or microwave in 20-second bursts. Stir well and adjust heat to taste.
  12. Transfer crispy tortellini to a serving platter, sprinkle with extra Parmesan, and serve with hot honey dip on the side. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.

Notes

For gluten-free or vegan options, use gluten-free tortellini and breadcrumbs, dairy-free Parmesan, and plant-based milk. Double-dip tortellini for extra crunch. Keep cooked tortellini warm in a low oven if making large batches. Adjust hot honey dip heat to taste.
