A quick and easy homemade dinner featuring juicy chicken breasts glazed with a rich, nutty brown butter honey garlic sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.

  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste (about ½ teaspoon)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season generously on both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the unsalted butter. Let it melt and cook, swirling occasionally, until it turns golden brown and smells nutty, about 3-4 minutes. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
  3. Add olive oil to the browned butter in the pan. Place the chicken breasts carefully in the skillet and cook without moving for 5-6 minutes on one side until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for another 5-6 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in honey and fresh lemon juice. Spoon the sauce over the chicken to coat well. Let simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens and chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Remove chicken from heat. Spoon extra sauce over the top and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

If the pan gets too dry during simmering, add a splash of water or chicken broth to prevent the sauce from burning. Let the chicken rest a few minutes before slicing to keep it juicy. For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with coconut oil. Chicken thighs can be used instead of breasts; cook about 8 minutes per side.
