A nostalgic and fun dessert featuring silky chocolate pudding layered with crunchy cookie crumbs and crispy cereal, topped optionally with gummy worms and whipped cream. Perfect for any occasion and easy to prepare in under 20 minutes.

  • 2 cups (16 fl oz / 480 ml) cold milk (whole milk preferred, 2% works fine)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1520 chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreo or chocolate wafer), crushed
  • 1 cup (1 oz / 30g) crispy rice cereal
  • Gummy worms or candy bugs (optional)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened.
  2. Add 1 tsp vanilla extract and stir gently. Let it set for 5 minutes.
  3. Place chocolate sandwich cookies into a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin until fine crumbs with some small chunks remain.
  4. In a small bowl, combine 1 cup crispy rice cereal with about half the crushed cookie crumbs.
  5. Spoon a generous layer of pudding (about 1/3 cup) into serving cups.
  6. Add a layer of the cookie and cereal mix (about 2 tablespoons).
  7. Repeat layering until cups are nearly full, finishing with the cookie-cereal mixture on top.
  8. Garnish with gummy worms or candy bugs and a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let flavors meld and pudding firm up.

Notes

Whisk pudding well to avoid lumps. Do not crush cookies too finely to maintain texture. Add crispy cereal just before layering to keep crunch. Chill at least 30 minutes before serving. For gluten-free or dairy-free options, substitute ingredients accordingly. Add extra cereal clusters before serving for extra crunch.
