Quick and easy crispy air fryer donuts made with Pillsbury biscuits, coated in cinnamon sugar for a nostalgic, bakery-quality treat in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (10 count) Pillsbury Biscuits (flaky layers variety preferred)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
  • Optional: maple syrup or honey for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and let it warm up for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Open the can of Pillsbury biscuits and separate them. Use a small round cutter (like a bottle cap or biscuit can lid) to cut a hole in the center of each biscuit to create donut shapes. Save the holes for donut holes.
  3. In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon evenly.
  4. Melt 3 tablespoons unsalted butter in a separate bowl.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  6. Dip each biscuit donut into the melted butter, coating both sides.
  7. Dredge each buttered donut in the cinnamon sugar mixture, pressing gently to coat evenly.
  8. Place the donuts in a single layer in the air fryer basket without touching. Cook in batches if needed.
  9. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through at 3-4 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Transfer donuts to a cooling rack for a few minutes to avoid sogginess. Serve warm.
  11. Air fry the biscuit holes for 4-5 minutes at the same temperature for bite-sized treats.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even crisping. Flip donuts halfway through cooking. Use butter before sugar to help coating stick. Adjust cooking time slightly based on your air fryer model. Use a cooling rack to prevent sogginess. For a glaze, dip warm donuts in powdered sugar mixed with milk and vanilla. Donut holes cook faster and are a great bite-sized treat.
