A quick and easy air fryer salmon recipe featuring a sticky honey garlic glaze and crispy skin, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon fillets (skin-on, about 6 oz / 170 g each)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Black pepper, freshly cracked, to taste
  • Optional garnish: sesame seeds or chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glaze: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and rice vinegar until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Lightly brush each fillet with olive oil and sprinkle with freshly cracked black pepper.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  4. Place salmon fillets skin side down in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Cook for 7 minutes.
  5. Carefully flip each fillet using tongs or a spatula. Brush the top with half of the honey garlic glaze. Return to the air fryer and cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Remove salmon and brush the tops with the remaining glaze. Optionally, return to the air fryer for 1-2 minutes for an extra sticky finish, watching closely to avoid burning.
  7. Transfer salmon to plates and garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired. Let rest for 1-2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before cooking to ensure crispy skin. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Brush glaze on later in cooking to prevent burning. Rest salmon after cooking to thicken glaze. For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos. Can add red pepper flakes for heat.
