  • 1 cup (115g) sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) cold buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup (57g) unsalted butter, melted (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (for glaze)
  • Pinch of salt (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, and garlic powder.
  3. Add cold, cubed unsalted butter and cut into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs with pea-sized pieces.
  4. Gently fold in freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
  5. Pour in cold buttermilk and stir just until combined; dough will be slightly sticky.
  6. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet in 10 evenly sized mounds spaced about 2 inches apart.
