Flaky, golden pastry stuffed with savory ham and gooey melted cheese—perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or a quick weeknight treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package crescent roll dough
  • 8 slices deli ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg, whisked with a splash of water (egg wash)
  • Optional seasonings: garlic powder, Italian seasoning, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. If using homemade dough, roll it out into a rectangular shape about 1/8 inch thick. For store-bought crescent roll dough, unroll it onto a floured surface and gently pinch together any perforated seams.
  3. Spread a thin layer of mustard evenly over the dough using a spoon or pastry brush.
  4. Layer the ham slices evenly over the dough, overlapping slightly if needed.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the ham.
  6. Cut the dough into rectangles or triangles, depending on the shape of your roll ups.
  7. Roll each piece from the wide end to the narrow tip, tucking in the edges as you go.
  8. Place the roll ups on the prepared baking sheet with the seam side facing down.
  9. Brush each roll up with egg wash for a golden finish.
  10. Optional: Sprinkle the tops with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, or sesame seeds.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  12. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

[‘Don’t overfill the roll ups to avoid bursting during baking.’, ‘Use cold dough for easier handling.’, ‘Seal the edges tightly to prevent filling from oozing out.’, ‘Experiment with flavors by adding herbs or different cheeses.’]
