Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound smoked kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, drained if canned)
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Slice 1 pound of kielbasa into 1/2-inch thick rounds and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup pineapple juice, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, and 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (if using) to make the glaze.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  4. Add kielbasa slices in a single layer and cook 2-3 minutes per side until golden and slightly crispy. Remove to a plate.
  5. In the same pan, add 1 cup pineapple chunks and sauté 2-3 minutes until caramelized and slightly browned.
  6. Return kielbasa to the pan with pineapple and pour the glaze over. Stir gently to coat evenly.
  7. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until glaze thickens and clings to the bites.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top.
  9. Transfer to a serving platter and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

If glaze thickens too quickly, add a splash of pineapple juice or water to loosen. Avoid overcrowding the pan when browning kielbasa for best sear. Use fresh pineapple for better caramelization. Reheat leftovers gently in a skillet with pineapple juice to maintain glaze texture.
