A light and airy frosting with a subtle hint of sweet vanilla, perfect for cakes, cupcakes, and desserts. Easy to make and ideal for elegant presentations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Optional: almond extract or a splash of liqueur

Instructions

  1. Chill your heavy cream, mixing bowl, and whisk attachment in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Pour the chilled heavy cream into the cold mixing bowl. Beat on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Lower the mixer speed to medium. Add the mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar, one spoonful at a time, and continue whipping until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract (and any optional flavorings like almond extract or liqueur) until just combined.
  5. Check the consistency of the frosting. If it’s too runny, chill for 10 minutes and re-whip.
  6. Transfer the frosting to a piping bag fitted with your favorite tip, or spread it onto your dessert with a spatula.

Notes

Chill all tools and ingredients for better results. Avoid overwhipping to prevent curdling. Use high-quality vanilla extract for the best flavor.
