A quick and easy refreshing drink featuring fresh peaches, dry white wine, citrus, and a touch of sweetness, perfect for warm weather gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe peaches, sliced thinly
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) peach liqueur (optional)
  • Juice of 1 lemon (about 3 tablespoons or 45 ml)
  • Juice of 1 lime (about 2 tablespoons or 30 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey or agave syrup
  • 1 cup (240 ml) club soda or sparkling water
  • A few sprigs of fresh mint or basil
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Wash the peaches and slice them thinly, keeping the skin on for color and texture. Aim for about 3 cups of sliced peaches. (10 minutes)
  2. Juice one lemon and one lime until you have about 5 tablespoons (75 ml) total. Use fresh juice. (5 minutes)
  3. In a large pitcher, combine the sliced peaches, white wine, peach liqueur (if using), lemon juice, lime juice, and honey or agave syrup. Stir gently to dissolve the honey and blend flavors. (5 minutes)
  4. Lightly bruise the mint or basil leaves by clapping them between your hands to release aroma, then toss them into the pitcher. (2 minutes)
  5. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or ideally overnight to let flavors marry. (Passive time)
  6. Just before serving, add 1 cup (240 ml) of club soda or sparkling water and stir gently. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the sangria over. Garnish with additional peach slices or a sprig of mint if desired. (5 minutes)

Notes

Use ripe but firm peaches to avoid mushy texture. Chill all ingredients before mixing to keep sangria refreshing. Add club soda just before serving to maintain fizz. Adjust sweetness after chilling by adding more honey or agave if needed. Frozen peaches can be used but fresh is preferred for texture and flavor. For a low-alcohol version, replace half the wine with sparkling water or white grape juice.
