This Garlic Steak Tortellini recipe combines tender steak, creamy tortellini, and a rich garlic butter sauce for a restaurant-quality meal made at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sirloin or ribeye steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 package (20 ounces) cheese-filled tortellini
  • 45 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes, grated Parmesan

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the tortellini according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Pat the steak strips dry with paper towels, then season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and sear for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned but not fully cooked through. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium and add 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  5. Return the steak to the skillet, along with the cooked tortellini. Toss everything in the garlic butter sauce until well coated.
  6. Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Season with additional salt and pepper, if needed.
  7. Transfer to serving plates, garnish with Parmesan or red pepper flakes if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Don’t overcook the steak in step 3—it will continue to cook slightly when tossed with the tortellini in the sauce. Use high heat for searing and fresh garlic for bold flavor.
