  • 46 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on or boneless)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, water, and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken thighs skin-side down and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy. Flip and cook the other side for another 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer chicken thighs to a plate and set aside. Drain excess oil from the skillet, leaving about 1 tablespoon behind.
  5. Reduce heat to medium and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour the honey garlic glaze into the skillet and stir continuously until it thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Return chicken thighs to the skillet, spooning the glaze over to coat evenly. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, flipping occasionally, until fully cooked and the glaze is sticky.
  8. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
