  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Optional seasoning: garlic powder, onion powder, or Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage with the cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until evenly mixed. Add any optional seasonings.
  4. Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it into the bottom of your greased baking dish. Stretch it slightly if needed to cover the base completely.
  5. Spread the sausage and cheese mixture evenly over the crescent dough base.
  6. Unroll the second can of crescent dough and place it over the filling. Pinch the edges together slightly to seal.
  7. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the crescents are fully cooked.
  8. Allow the bake to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes or finely chopped green onions to the filling. Ensure the crescent dough edges are sealed to keep the filling intact during baking.
