These chewy blondies are loaded with chunks of juicy apples and topped with a luscious maple glaze, making them the ultimate fall dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and diced (e.g., Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for glaze, plant-based if preferred)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, whisking well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in the diced apples gently using a spatula.
  7. Pour the batter into your prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely before glazing.
  9. To make the glaze, whisk together the maple syrup, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth and pourable.
  10. Drizzle or spread the glaze over the cooled blondies. Let the glaze set for 10-15 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

For best results, use fresh apples and let the blondies cool completely before glazing. Adjust the glaze consistency with milk or powdered sugar as needed.
