Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (175g) chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (85g) caramel bits
  • 1 cup (60g) crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup (50g) chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup (100g) holiday-colored candies
  • Optional extras: dried cranberries, shredded coconut, mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Mix in eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips, caramel bits, crushed pretzels, chopped nuts, and holiday-colored candies.
  7. Scoop dough using a tablespoon or cookie scoop and roll into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underdone.
  9. Remove cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

[‘Chill the dough for 30 minutes if your kitchen is warm to prevent spreading.’, ‘Customize your mix-ins based on your pantry or preferences.’, ‘Don’t overbake; cookies will continue to cook on the baking sheet after removal from the oven.’, ‘Rotate cookie sheets halfway through baking for even results.’]
