These savory honey Dijon pulled ham sliders on toasted Hawaiian rolls combine sweet and tangy flavors with tender shredded ham, perfect for quick parties or casual snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups pulled or shredded cooked ham (smoked ham optional for deeper flavor)
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 12 small Hawaiian rolls, split
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional toppings: pickles or sliced jalapeños, shredded cheddar or Swiss cheese, fresh herbs like parsley or chives

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika if using. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Add the pulled ham to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  4. Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally using a sharp knife.
  5. Brush melted butter evenly on the cut sides of both top and bottom halves of the rolls.
  6. Place the bottom halves of the rolls on a baking sheet and spread the honey Dijon pulled ham mixture evenly over them.
  7. If using cheese, sprinkle it on top of the ham now.
  8. Cover with the top halves of the rolls and press gently to compact layers without squishing.
  9. Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to toast the tops until golden and slightly crisp.
  11. Add optional toppings like pickles or jalapeños after baking to keep their crunch.
  12. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before cutting into individual sliders.

Notes

If ham seems dry, add a splash of chicken broth or extra honey mustard before assembling. Avoid over-saucing to prevent soggy sliders. Use leftover smoked ham for deeper flavor. For gluten-free, substitute rolls with gluten-free buns. For dairy-free, use plant-based butter.
