This irresistible recipe combines crispy bacon-wrapped asparagus with a rich garlic parmesan butter, making it a show-stopping side or appetizer perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed and washed
  • 812 bacon strips, thin or regular-cut
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced or finely grated
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: Fresh parsley or lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or place a wire rack on top.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, and grated parmesan cheese. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the trimmed asparagus spears for a subtle flavor boost.
  4. Take one bacon strip and spiral-wrap it tightly around each asparagus spear. Place the wrapped spears on the baking sheet or wire rack.
  5. Use a brush to generously coat the bacon-wrapped asparagus with the garlic parmesan butter mixture.
  6. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Flip the asparagus halfway through for even cooking. The bacon should be crispy, and the asparagus tender.
  7. For extra crispiness, turn on the broiler for 1-2 minutes after baking. Keep an eye on it to avoid burning.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Garnish with parsley or lemon zest if desired.

Notes

For extra crispiness, use thin bacon and broil for 1-2 minutes after baking. Space out the spears on the tray to avoid steaming. You can prep ahead by wrapping the asparagus and refrigerating until ready to bake.
